How do I take part in Dubai Ride?

Register at dubairide.com. Adults must register individually and can bring children with them. Once you register you will receive an email confirmation and QR code. You will need to pick up your bib ahead of the Ride – you can collect your bib from Run and Ride Central from 30 October - 11 November, Mon-Fri 2pm-10pm or Sat-Sun 10am-10pm.

What's the difference between the routes?

The 4km Downtown Family route follows Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard and goes past Dubai Mall, Dubai Opera and the Burj Khalifa. It's a flat route, suitable for cyclists of all ages and abilities.

The 12km route takes place on Sheik Zayed Road. This route is more challenging and is best suited for experienced cyclists. For your convenience, we offer five different starting points, allowing you to pick the one that suits you best. Simply start and finish at your chosen gate to complete the 12 km loop. Here are the five starting gates to choose from: Museum of The Future, Al Satwa, Coca-Cola Arena, Business Bay, and Lower Financial St.

What are the routes?

There are two routes for Dubai Ride this year, a 4km Downtown Family route and a 12km route on Sheikh Zayed Road.

I'm taking part in the adidas x Les Mills event. Where can I leave my bike?

There are dedicated bike racks located near the event venue for your convenience. To find the exact locations, please refer to our interactive map.

Do I need to register?

Yes you do. Dubai Ride presented by DP World is a free event but we ask everyone to register for safety and security reasons. After registering, you will need to collect your Dubai Ride bib from the collection point: Run and Ride Central, at One Central. Anyone arriving at Dubai Ride without a bib will unfortunately not be able to take part.

Do I need to register my kids?

Yes you do. Anyone over 21 years old can add chlldren to their registration. Children between 13 and 21 can register individually but must have the consent of a parent or guardian. Kids under 13 can only be registered with an adult aged over 21.

Can I register with my friends?

No you can't. For safety and security reasons, we need each adult to register individually. If you want to take part in Dubai Ride with a group of friends, we recommend you all register at the same start gate and arrange to meet up when you arrive so you can ride together.

Can people of determination take part?

Can I change my start gate?

You can't change your start gate but you can cancel your registration and re-register at a different start gate. Please note that capacities are limited at each start gate, so we recommend you confirm your plans as early as possible to ensure you can start from your preferred gate.

I can't find my QR code

It was emailed to you when you registered. Please check your spam emails in case it went there. If you still can't find your code, go back to www.dubairide.com, log in to your profile and select 'manage my booking' and you will be able to view and download it.

I've lost my bib. Can I get another one?

Yes you can, but you need to re-visit the bib collection point and you may need to cancel your registration and re-register.

What is a QR code?

A QR code is a square code that can be scanned by mobile phone cameras. It saves manually typing in codes, so helps us to serve you more quickly and more accurately.

How do I collect my bib?

You can collect your bib and race T-shirt from Run and Ride Central, at One Central, from 30 October - 11 November, Mon-Fri 2pm-10pm or Sat-Sun 10am-10pm.  Further details will be shared with registered riders.

Can I cancel my registration?

Yes you can, please log in to your profile at www.dubairide.com and select 'manage my booking'.

Why do I need a bib?

They are an important safety element of Dubai Ride so anyone arriving without a bib will unfortunately not be able to take part in the event.

Can I pick up bibs for my family or friends?

Yes you can, just make sure you have their QR codes when you go to pick up their bibs

Can I register as a family?

Yes, one parent can add their kids to their registration. If the other parent wants to take part in Dubai Ride as well, they will need to register separately.

Are there special arrangements for people of determination?

Yes there are, we have a dedicated team to look after people of determination and make sure they have a safe and enjoyable experience at Dubai Ride. Please contact [email protected] for more details.

Where can I park?

Parking is available near most start gates. Detailed route maps will be shared with registered riders so you can plan your journey.

Can I ride my bike to Dubai Ride?

Yes you can, just make sure you use cycle paths if they are available and have lights on your bike if you are arriving before sunrise. Please also make sure you obey Dubai's traffic laws if you have to ride your bike on a road, and remember the roads will be busier when you ride home after the event.

Where is the drop-off and pick-up point?

If you are being dropped off or picked up at Dubai Ride we suggest you use RTA parking bays which are available near all our start gates.

What time can I arrive before the ride starts?

The Dubai Ride routes start at 6.15am – please arrive 30 minutes before. We ask that all cyclists start their ride by 7:30am and complete their ride by 8:15am. If you arrive late for Dubai Ride, you may not be able to participate or to complete the full route.

What is the latest time I can arrive at Dubai Ride?

What happens when I arrive for my ride?

Please go to your chosen start gate, our event team will do a basic safety check and then guide you onto the route to begin your ride.

What if I arrive late?

All cyclists have to clear from the Dubai Ride routes by 8:15am so we can re-open the roads for traffic. If you arrive late, you may not be able to start your ride or complete a full lap.

How do I get back to my car after the ride?

We recommend that you try to finish your ride at the same place you start so you can get back to your car easily. If you finish in a different place, our event team will be able to direct you to a safe route back to your car.

Will there be road closures for Dubai Ride?

Yes there will. Some roads will be closed to create the Dubai Ride routes and ensure we have a safe space for people to enjoy their ride. Please refer to the RTA for more details.

How do I get my bike to the event?

If there is a safe route, we encourage you to cycle to your start gate, otherwise you can bring your bike by car. If you do ride, please make sure you follow the traffic laws. You can take your bike in a taxi, as long as it fits in the boot / trunk and as long as it doesn't damage the taxi. We recommend you tell the taxi company you have a bike with you when you book your taxi so they can send an appropriate vehicle for you. Please note it is not permitted to take bikes on the Dubai's buses.

Can I take my bike in a taxi?

Yes, you can take your bike in a RTA taxi, as long as it fits in the boot / trunk and as long as it doesn't damage the taxi. We recommend you tell the taxi company you will have a bike with you when you book your taxi so they can send an appropriate vehicle for you.

Can I take my bike on the bus?

No you can't. Bikes are not permitted in Dubai's buses.

What time does Dubai Ride start?

The Dubai Ride routes start at 6.15am but you make sure you arrive at your chosen start gate 30 minutes before.

Where do I go to start my ride?

Please go to your chosen start gate and our event team will guide you onto the route to begin your ride. If you can't remember your start gate, please check the confirmation email you received when you registered or log in to the registration site again and click 'manage my booking' to check which start gate you chose.

Can I bring my bicycles on my roof rack?

Yes, but please be aware that most car parks have height restrictions. If you put your bike on a roofrack, you will need to park in on-street parking. If you can, we suggest you carry your bike on a rear-mounted car rack.

What type of bike can I use?

You can use any type of bike as long as it has at least two wheels and is safe and roadworthy with working brakes. E-bikes are allowed, but you can't use scooters.

Can I bring my bicycles on a rear car bike rack?

Yes. Rear bike racks will be permitted into all the parking areas.

Can my child ride in a bike trailer?

Yes, but remember that all children must wear helmets.

Yes, but remember that all children must wear helmets.

Do I need lights on my bike?

Yes, we recommend you have lights on your bike, especially if you plan to arrive early before sunrise.

We have repair stations at each start gate where someone will help you to repair your bike. There will also be roaming mechanics along the route.

What happens if I lose my child?

Please let one of our event team know as soon as possible if you've lost your child and we will help you find them. It's important that children wear their Dubai Ride bib so we can reunite you quickly.

You can take part in an adapted bike, but wheelchairs are not permitted on the route for safety reasons.

Are rental bikes available at Dubai Ride?

We do not have any rental bikes available at Dubai Ride. If you want to take part and need to hire a bike, we recommend you contact one of Dubai's cycle shops or pay-per-minute bike rental services.

Is Dubai Ride a race?

No, Dubai Ride is a community event and is not competitive. You will not be timed, and you should observe the speed limits on the routes. Please ride at a comfortable pace and enjoy the experience of cycling on some of Dubai's most iconic roads.

Do I need to wear a helmet?

Yes, all participants must wear a helmet to take part in Dubai Ride. This includes children in bike seats or trailers.

Is there water available on the routes?

In line with the Dubai Can sustainability initiative, we ask that you bring a refillable water bottle with you, and fill it up before you leave home. If you run out of water, there will be Mai Dubai Hydration Stations along the routes.

What shoes do I wear?

All participants must be in closed sports shoes, such as trainers or cycling shoes.

What should I wear?

Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and for taking part in a physical activity. Remember that it may be cold before sunrise but will get warmer and sunnier later in the morning. All riders must wear a cycle helmet to take part in Dubai Ride, including children.

Will food be available?

There will be no food available on the route but after Dubai Ride, visit the Coca-Cola Arena or reward yourself with a nutritious breakfast in Dubai Mall.

Can I ride with my family and friends?

Yes, but we ask that you are considerate of other riders. Please don't block the route, be aware of slower cyclists and leave plenty of room for faster riders to pass you.

Can I take photos?

Yes of course. There are photo points around the routes where you get the best views. If you choose to stop to take photos, please make sure you don't block the route so other riders can still get past you.

What happens when I arrive for my ride?

Please go to your chosen start gate, our event team will do a basic safety check and then guide you onto the route to begin your ride.

Is there a speed limit?

Yes there is. To ensure that everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience, we ask that you limit your top speed to 25km per hour on the Sheikh Zayed Road route, and 15km per hour on the Downtown Family route.

Can I do more than one lap?

Yes you can. You can do as many laps as you like, as long as you finish your ride by 8:15am.

What happens if I can't finish my ride?

We suggest you try to finish your ride in the same place you started. If you can't do that, please leave the route at one of the marked exits and our team will be there to assist you.

What happens with lost property?

Lost property is collected at each start gate. If you find an item, or if you've lost an item, please speak to one of the event team at the nearest start gate. Any lost property which is not claimed immediately after the event is handed over to Dubai Police.

Will toilets be available?

Yes, there will be toilets at all our start gates.

Can I bring a backpack with me?

No. Backpacks or rucksacks are not permitted for safety reasons.

How do I get back to my car after the ride?

We recommend that you try to finish your ride at the same place you start so you can get back to your car easily. If you finish in a different place, our event team will be able to direct you to a safe route back to your car.
