ROUTE INFORMATION

  • ​Riders will experience the 12km Sheikh Zayed Road route between 5am and 6am on 10 November, offering the chance for cyclists to speed through the heart of the city before anyone else wakes up.
  • This experience is exclusively for experienced cyclists who can maintain a minimum speed of 30 km/h throughout the ride.
  • The 12km Sheikh Zayed Road route goes from Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park and back. It includes a climb over the Dubai Canal Bridge.
  • There is only one starting point for Speed Laps, at Gate A (Museum of the Future). On the day, the route will be clearly marked and easy to follow, and our event team will be on hand to ensure that Dubai Ride Speed Laps goes smoothly.

BEFORE THE RIDE

  • Make sure you register and collect your bib - you won't be able to take part in Dubai Ride Speed Laps unless you are wearing your numbered bib. You can collect your bib from Dubai Municipality Zabeel Park 30 x 30 Fitness Village from 26 October to 9 November. The timings are: Mon-Thu 4pm to 11pm, Fri 12pm-12am, Sat and Sun 8am-12am. Remember to bring your registration QR code with you.
  • In line with the Dubai Can sustainability initiative, make sure you have a refillable water bottle, fill it up before you leave home, stay hydrated and refill your bottle at any of our dedicated Mai Dubai water stations.
  • Dubai Ride Speed Laps is not child-friendly. All participants must be aged 21 and over to take part.
  • Make sure you have a bike! You must use a road bike for Dubai Ride Speed Laps (no TT handle bars or clip-on aero bars will be permitted), and maintain a minimum speed of 30 km/h.
  • ​You must wear a cycle helmet to take part in Dubai Ride Speed Laps and we recommend you have lights on your bike.
  • Dubai Ride Speed Laps starts at 5am make sure you have entered through the start gate prior to it closing at 5:30am. You must exit the route by 6am.

DURING THE RIDE

  • Stay safe, stay hydrated and enjoy the thrill of Dubai Ride Speed Laps. Anyone feeling unwell should stay at home.
  • Riders should have experience riding in a peloton to avoid accidents.
  • Remember your bike helmet and your Dubai Ride Speed Laps bib - you won't be able to take part in Dubai Ride Speed Laps if you forget them.
  • Also don't forget to bring your full refillable water bottle and bike lights with you.
  • Remember Dubai Ride Speed Laps is not a race, however there is a minimum speed requirement. If you need to stop on the route or if you have a problem with your bike, please move to the side of the road and make sure you don't block the route for other cyclists. If you are not maintaining the minimum speed, the Dubai Ride Marshalls will remove you from the route to ensure the safety of all participants.
  • Please make sure you obey Dubai's traffic laws if you cycle from home to Dubai Ride Speed Laps and remember the roads will be busier when you leave after the event.

AFTER THE RIDE

  • We need to prepare the route for Dubai Ride so all Speed Laps cyclists must finish their ride by 6am. You can leave Sheikh Zayed Road from any of the exit points.
  • You are welcome to join your family for Dubai Ride once Speed Laps is finished, but you will need to register separately in advance and bring both bibs with you.
